Flagstaff Area Day Trip

Join us Thursday, March 12th for a fun day as we visit the Museum of Northern Arizona and Lowell Observatory.  The first stop is the MNA museum area which has outstanding exhibits on various subjects.  The one of great interest for our group is the "Tim's Cave exhibit" after hearing Andy Seagle's presentation on "Tim's Cave" during Wednesday, March 11th DFC meeting.

We meet at MNA (10:00am) and tour the museum.  The cost is $10.00 per member for the museum which is the group rate for us.  Lunch is on your own.  Either go into Flagstaff or pack a picnic lunch and enjoy the MNA grounds.

Next, we travel up the road to meet at the Lowell observatory for the 2:00pm tour.  The Lowell Tour explores the observatory’s past and present research efforts, during this 45-minute guided walking tour of the historical campus.  This tour includes a stop at the renowned 24" Clark Refracting Telescope, built in 1896 and still usable to this day.  The cost of the tour is $20.00 per member payable at the observatory.

More details after sign up.  This trip is limited to 12 members.  It is open to AAS/DFC members only with priority given to DFC members.  You must be signed up by 3/1/2020.
