The recording of rock art at the Brooklyn Basin site on Perry Mesa. began as a week long Field School during which participants learned recording skills and had lectures in addition to the actual task of recording the rock art.
Sue Pereza was the first Field Director for the Brooklyn Basin Field School from. During the field week the recording of loci 1 - 5 were completed.
The second year of the Brooklyn Basin Field School was in 2003. It rained the whole week and only part of locus 6 was completed.
In 2005 the Brooklyn Basin Field School was voted by the Certification Committee to be a Field Project for the participants of the Rock Art Recorder Class so that the students may obtain their needed 40 recording hours to become certified rock art recorders. The 2005 Rock Art Recorder Class was taught by Barbara Gronemann. Certified recorders were invited to assist the students in the recording of Brooklyn Basin. They completed loci 6, 7 and 8.
The Perry Mesa Rock Art Project completed recording of 3 loci during the period. With reports & photo work continuing.
