2013 Arizona Archaeological Society Professional Archaeologist Andy Christenson will explore the rich history and relationship between professional and amateur archaeologists in Central Arizona.
This presentation is the local kick-off event for the Smoki Museum’s exhibit “An Essential Relationship: Amateurs and Professionals in Central Arizona Archaeology,” which opens on December 6 at 1 p.m. and runs through May 2015.
You won’t want to miss this opportunity to learn more about the vital role amateur archaeologists -- from the earliest explorations to people who are still active in our chapter -- have played in illuminating the region’s prehistoric past and preserving it for future generations to learn from.
